NFL Preview

After being burned time and time again last postseason picking against the Pats, Sports Amnesia is at it again. The Patriots will not repeat. The Patriots will not repeat.

They play in the NFL's toughest division and, according to NFL figures, will play the second-most difficult schedule in the league based on the 2004 record of their opponents (Miami's schedule is rated more difficult only because the Dolphins have to play the Patriots twice).

But that's not really the reason why the Pats won't repeat. They won't repeat because Sports Amnesia are sick of them. And yes, we were sick of them last season, Belechick's false modesty, the perfection, the constant elbow to the gut reminding Jets fans of how he bailed out on them...yeah, Herm Edwards my ear. It coulda been the Jets going for this threepeat...

If they'd been a cool team worthy of a threepeat, they wouldn't have agreed to meet with the president. They'd have spit on the invitations, torn them into little tiny pieces and made further noises about not looking ahead but having alot of hard work ahead of them:
